What to expect on the day
We believe that your photo session should be a warm and enjoyable experience for the whole family. That’s why we allocate 90 minutes for your session, allowing us to capture multiple combinations and settings to provide as much variety in your photos as possible. We understand that babies can be unpredictable, and it’s common for them to stop, feed, or need changing during your session. But don’t worry, we’re prepared for anything and will work with you to ensure that your baby is comfortable and content throughout the entire process. For Sunshine Coast based sessions, you will be invited to view the images on the same day as your photography session. All other locations can expect to view their images via zoom within 5 days of their session. During your viewing session you will be able to finalise your image selection & place your order.
What to prepare
For babies under six weeks old So that we can aim to settle your baby for their session, please have your baby fed, changed into a fresh nappy & wearing just a nappy with cozy wrap prior to your session start time. This allows us to utilise the provided bonnets, outfits and wraps that you may wish to include in your session. Please bring along any sentimental items such as heirloom blankets or handed down gowns. We can discuss on the day if these can be included in your session.
Bring along spare nappies, wipes and a fresh outfit change for your baby during their session. It’s always a great idea to pop a spare plain white top in for mum & dad too just incase there are any accidents.
For babies over six weeks old Bring any soothing items such as dummies, blankets and teddies to make your little one feel secure. Please bring along any sentimental items such as heirloom blankets or handed down gowns. We can discuss on the day if these can be included in your session. Bring along spare nappies, wipes and a fresh outfit change for your baby during their session.
What if I am located away from the Sunshine Coast?
Although our HQ is located on the Sunshine Coast, we service the Gold Coast, Brisbane & Toowoomba.
Your Newborns Safety
Your family’s health and safety is our top priority. That’s why all of our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and have received the whooping cough vaccine. We take newborn safety seriously and our photography style is natural and candid, meaning we won’t pose your baby in positions that might be uncomfortable for them. Instead, we’ll take their lead and capture stunning images that showcase their natural beauty and personality.

How do I secure a booking?
Contact us through the website and we will give you a call the next business day. This is a great opportunity to run you through the experience, answer any questions you may have and find a time that works with you. We require a non-refundable session fee to be paid in advance to secure your date in my diary.
When should I book my Newborn Photography?
During your pregnancy is the best time to book any of your sessions. I will put your due date into my diary and we go from there. Newborns are best photographed under 14 days of age, when they are nice and sleepy and curl into those beautiful poses, but if you DO have an older newborn please don’t stress I will still get beautiful photos of your special little person, they will just be more alert and need a lot more cuddling (which I’m COMPLETELY OK with!) I get a lot more lifestyle shots with older newborns including you and your partner interacting with your baby.
Is it going to be really expensive?
Realistically Speaking, each of our portrait collections is carefully curated, offering immense value that our previous clients have consistently appreciated. None have ever felt that what New Life provides is too costly. Quite the contrary, many return for more sessions, drawn by the quality and experience they receive.
